1800 - Permanent European settlement at Turks Cove appears to have begun about this time. John Antle and Manuel Carberry are recorded as living here.
1835 - Families of John and Joseph Antle, James Carberry, Philip Hearty, Thomas Peppy and Isaac Samson are residents of Turks Cove. The following year the census records that 69 people are living here.
1845 - A school is built.
1860 - The Labrador Fishery employes some residents of the community.
1920's - The Labrador Fishery collaspes.
1951- The population consists of only 22 people.
1960's - Families move to Turk's Cove from New Perlican and Winterton. The Coates Family begins a sawmill and opens a small restaurant in their home, while others continue to work in the fishery.
1977 - The Government Wharf and stage are built.
1994 - Family names of Turks Cove in 1994 include Coates, Colburne, Conway, Mahon, Ryans, and Samms.
