According to the text, the Margison plan (1962) was designed to handle, in ten and twenty years hence, a student population as smaller in fact as had been initially forecast in the 1954 master plan.

The upper right image illustrates the most recent and most elaborate master plan scheme prepared by the Architectural Associates for Carleton University. Prepared in 1962, it would appear to have been designed to accommodate a full-time student population of between 15,000 to 20,000. That scheme, cited here as the Architectural Associates plan (1962), proposes at least four parking garages on campus and many other features which have subsequently been repeated in later master plans. This concept incorporates many of their early ideas and also presents a more conservative campus proposal for the then yet-to-be-developed areas. The water features from plans prepared in the 1950s have all been deleted. There are no known master planning shcemes for 1963 nor 1964.
