COLOURFUL WORDS
Widening Your Descriptive Vocabulary

teddy bear with painter's paletteHave you ever noticed that it's easy to describe the difference between two similar objects that are different colours, but not so easy when the similar objects are also the same colour? This is because any one colour can have thousands and thousands of variations. Bright blue and dark blue and all the shades in between are all blue. A large descriptive vocabulary can make it easier to describe objects and distinguish between them. This activity can help you build that vocabulary, by showing you words that can be used to describe the variations in colours. Don't be yellow! Click on my palette and give it a try!
