Korean Conflict - 1950-1953

Over 25,000 Canadians including one Canadian Brigade of 7,000 served in Korea under the United Nations flag during the Korean conflict.

The Korean Book of Remembrance shows a list of 516 Canadians who gave their lives in this Canadian Army Special Force from July 5, 1950 until the cessation of hostilities by the Korea Armistice Agreement, signed on July 27, 1953 at Panmunjon.

The Wellington Legion Branch #17 is proud to honour the participation of 12 veterans in this United Nations police action. Among these volunteers, 5 were part of the Royal 22nd Regiment and the P.P.C.L.I. of which 4 were paratroopers; 5 others were attached to other army units (1 Stradcona Horse, 1 Royal Canadian Horse Artillery, 1 R.C.N. (HMCS Huron), 1 U.S. service and one killed in training in Canada).
