Safety

Safety and environmental protection are of paramount importance to the National Energy Board (NEB). As an independent federal regulator, the NEB promotes safety and security, environmental protection and economic efficiency in the Canadian public interest within the mandate set by the Parliament of Canada.

Protecting Canadians and the Environment: Information Documents

The Overview of the National Energy Board’s Mandate and Regulatory Framework provides a synopsis of what we do and how we do it. As part of our Action Plan on Safety and Environmental Protection, the Board is committed to providing additional information to Canadians on the NEB and its management and protection compliance programs.
