In studying a past way of life, it is most interesting in its folklore. The sayings of the people, the lore of the folk, should not to be disregarded. Wisdom and humor are to be found and studied to figure out the society of the past. We may even be surprised that it wasn't as different as we thought it was. These folklorists have researched the past, and brought to our attention the nearly forgotten ways of our ancestors. They understand the culture and society of the area and have made a difference in how we perceive our past. They are to be thanked and appreciated for their time and effort to dig up buried documents of information.
