M

Magen David - Hebrew term for the Star of David Magen David

Matzah - unleavened bread made of flour and water that Jews eat during the eight days of Passover.

Menorah - Seven-branched candelabra.

Mezuzah - Small metal or wooden case containing scriptures. It is placed on the right door-post of the front door of a house, or in some cases, on the door post of every room.

Mikvah - Measuring about two cubic meters and filled with 'pure' water, the mikvah is used for purposes of physical and spiritual purification. People converting to Judaism must visit the Mikvah.

Minyan - A Hebrew word that means number. A minyan is the minimum of ten people over age of 13 years necessary for public services.

Mohel - Title of the person who performs a circumcision.
