Butlerville

A small inland community located about 5km west of nearby Bay Roberts.
For many years Butlerville, Shearstown, and Bay Roberts were referred to as
"the Gully", "the Pond", and "the Harbour".

They early economy of Butlerville consisted of farming, lumbering, and fishing. Residents would work in the seal fishery in the spring, the Labrador fishery in the summer, and cut wood for fuel and lumber during the winter.
