Heart's Desire

Located on the Eastern Shore about 7.2 km north of Heart's Delight is the small fishing community of Heart's Desire.

Like many other Newfoundland communities, Heart's Desire mainly relied on the inshore cod fishery.

Agriculture was important to the economy and livelihood. Well known to the people of the Island were the plentiful forest between Heart's Content and Heart's Delight.

The sawmill built in 1911 continued to operate till the mid 1930's. Another form of employment for some of the residents was the involvement in the mining industry.
