In Québec's lower St-Lawrence region, the beautiful rocky
landscape of Métis attracted that new generation of painters
who sought to represent Canada's identity through its landscape.
Anne Savage and many of her Montréal contemporaries made
regular sketching trips there. The Métis work stands out
as angular and rhythmical.
