Anne Savage was born in a time where women were often bound to
their homes by family obligations. Women who painted sometimes
depicted the outside world as they saw it through the windows
of their homes. Through her work as a teacher and her painting,
Anne lived in the world and painted it from her experience. Examples
of images painted "from inside" are in contrast to Anne's
vigorous and colourful landscapes. |
