Although Anne Savage travelled across Canada during her life and
painted many different landscapes, she often stated that the gentle,
rolling countryside of the Laurentians was her favourite place.
Her familiarity and comfort with this area is reflected in the
sweeping brushstrokes and organisation of her paintings of Wonish
and its surroundings.
