Anne often painted sunflowers, using them as symbols of seasonal
change in the Canadian landscape. Her depictions of them were
as wild and untamed expressions of nature which filled the foreground
of her canvas. Her paintings of sunflowers were always done in
conscious respect of Vincent Van Gogh's "Sunflowers",
a work that she greatly admired. |
