Mr. Edward Théodore Arsenault is the son of Emmanuel P. and Roséline Arsenault of Cape Egmont. He attended Cape Egmont school after which he was involved in fishing with his father. On June 18, 1941, he enlisted in the Canadian Army. He served in Canada and overseas until his discharge on March 19, 1946. He was later involved in building fishing boats.

He was one of the founders of Acadian Pioneer Village and supervised the construction of log buildings forming part of the village. He was also the first manager of the organization.

He is also responsible for many monuments at Gôéland centre and on the parish ground at Mont Carmel. His last work was the monument in Miscouche commemorating the hundredth anniversary of the adoption of the Acadian flag.

In 1980, he built a bottle house on his own property and later built two more buildings, among which was a small church. He was a capable gardener; the grounds surrounding his home were all beauty.

He was the first president of the Veterans Club of the Royal Canadian Legion, and it was under his leadership that the idea of publishing a book was conceived. At the time of his death in 1984, he had already done considerable research toward this project. He was also a great organizer and many social evenings of entertainment were organized by him.

The Veterans Club wishes to acknowledge his great interest and accomplishment in the community and his contribution to the Royal Canadian Legion.
