Seaman Lowell Barlow
SEAMAN LOWELL BARLOW

Seaman Lowell Barlow, son of Howard Barlow and Greeta Clark, joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1943 and served as a wireless operator on the corvette H.M.C.S. Huntsville, which sailed between Newfoundland and Northern Ireland.

He was discharged in 1945.


Sq/L. Preston Barlow, son of Howard Barlow and Greeta Clark, enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force on June 26, 1940. He graduated as pilot in Summerside in 1941. He served as a bomber pilot in England, Malta and the Middle East, then served for 1½ years in England as instructor, after which he flew Lancaster bombers. On February 4, 1945 on the final flight of his second tour of operation (50 sorties), he was reported missing and later found buried in Belgium.

As reported in the book: "By the Old Mill Stream" "on the way to Malta, his plane was shot down and he and his crew were adrift in a rubber dinghy for six hours before being rescued".


Cpl. Albert Barriault
CPL. ALBERT BARRIAULT

Cpl. Albert Barriault, son of Joseph Barriault and Jane Gaudet, enlisted in the army in 1940 and served with the West Nova Scotia Regiment in Canada, Italy, Holland and Germany. He was discharged in 1945.

Pte. Amédée Barriault, son of Valentin Barriault and Adéline Barnett, served in both World wars. In the 1939-1945 war, he served in the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps.

Pte. Arthur Barriault
PTE. ARTHUR BARRIAULT

Pte. Arthur Barriault, son of Joseph Barriault and Jane Gaudet, enlisted in the army on May 21, 1941 and served with the 2nd Heavy Anti-aircraft in Petawawa, Ontario and in Europe.

He was discharged on August 10, 1945.


Able seaman Joseph Ernest Barriault, son of Arcade Barriault and Lena Arsenault, enlisted in the Canadian Navy on September 29, 1941 and served with the Royal Canadian Naval Reserve in Canada and on the High Seas.

He was reported missing on September 20, 1943 when the ship on which he was serving, the H.M.S.C. "St. Croix" was lost as a result of enemy action while serving on convoy duty in the Atlantic. For official purposes, he is  presumed to have died on that date. Having no known grave, his name  is commemorated on the Halifax Memorial (Information taken from Public Archives, Canada).

Seaman Louis-Martin Barriault
SEAMAN LOUIS MARTIN BARRIAULT

Seaman Louis-Martin Barriault, son of Joseph Barriault and Jane Gaudet, enlisted in the Canadian Navy in April, 1942. He served with the Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve on the H.M.C.S. Arnprior, doing convoy duty in the North and South Atlantic oceans.

He was discharged in October, 1945.

Gunner Patrick Alfred Barriault, son of Alexis and Madeleine Barriault, enlisted in the Canadian Army on September 9, 1939 and served with the Royal Canadian Artillery in the United Kingdom, Central Mediterranean area and Continental Europe.

He was discharged on September 4, 1945.

Pte. Joseph Steve Barriault
PTE. JOSEPH STEVE BARRIAULT

Pte. Joseph Steve Barriault, son of Alexis and Madeleine Barriault, joined the P.E.I. Highlanders on June 4, 1940. He was posted in Newfoundland and was sent to No. 6 District Depot in Halifax.

He was discharged on June 11, 1946.
