Pte. William J. Arsenault
PTE. WILLIAM J. ARSENAULT

Pte. William J. Arsenault, son of Joseph and Lucianne Arsenault, served in the Canadian Army during the war years with the Royal Canadian Ordnance Corps.

His postings include Halifax, N.S.; North Bay, Ont.; and Joliette, P.Q.

Seaman Charles Bertram Ayers, son of Charles Ayers and sabel Goodwin, joined the Merchant Navy in 1939.

During most of the year, he served on board the Canadian Ship "Arabian Prince", escorting convoys overseas in the Atlantic Ocean.

He was discharged in 1946.

Quarter master Joseph Edmond Ayers
QUARTER MASTER JOSEPH EDMOND AYERS

Quarter master Joseph Edmond Ayers, son of James P. Ayers and Mary Eliza Praught, served in the American Army from March 20, 1941 to July 31, 1945.

He was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Theatre Campaign Ribbon; the American Defence Service Ribbon and the Good Conduct Medal.


Major James Emmett Ayers, son of Charles Ayers and Isabel Goodwin, served as a telegraphist in the Royal Canadian Naval Voluntary Reserve from 1943 on the H.M.S.C. Waskesieu and H.M.C.S. Algonquin. He also served on the H.M.S.C. Talapus, a tugboat engaged in the destruction of Japanese sea mines surfacing along the B.C. coast of Canada.

After graduating from St. Dunstan's University, he qualified as an officer in the Canadian Officer's Training Corps and served in the Korean Conflict in 1956 and as military observer for the U.N. in Lebanon and Egypt.

Major Ayers retired from the military service in 1974.

JEAN JOSEPH ALBAN AUCOIN

Warrant Officer 1st Class Jean Joseph Alban Aucoin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Emmanuel Aucoin, enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force on May 14, 1941. He served at Gander & Botwood, Newfoundland, Watoon Lake, Whitehorse, Yukon, Edmonton, Ottawa, Goose Bay, Lac St. Denis, St. Hubert, North Bay and was discharged June 30, 1973 after serving 32 years.

Pte. Jean Benoit Aucoin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Emmanuel Aucoin, enlisted in the Army on October 2, 1941. He served in Canada, in the Mediterranean area, in Italy, in France and Germany.

He was discharged on November 12, 1945.

Pte. Cyril-André Aucoin
PTE. CYRIL ANDRÉ AUCOIN

Pte. Cyril-André Aucoin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Émmanuel Aucoin, enlisted in the No. 6 District Depot C.A. Charlottetown on October 26, 1942 and served with the R.C.A.S.C. in the United Kingdom and Continental Europe.

He received the France/Germany Star and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. He was discharged on March 18, 1946.

Pte. Henri P. Aucoin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Emmanuel Aucoin, served with the Cape Breton Highlanders and was killed in Italy on January 17, 1944.

Pte. George P. Baglole
PTE. GEORGE P. BAGLOLE

Pte. George P. Baglole, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Baglole, served in the 1939-1945 war.

Airman John Thomas Baglole, son of James Baglole and Eliza Small, enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force on June 6, 1941 and served until December 13, 1946.
