Airman Amos Richard
AIRMAN AMOS RICHARD

Airman Amos Richard, son of Wilbert and Jacqueline Richard, enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force on June 10, 1943.

He was discharged on November 2, 1945.


Pte. Émile Richard, son of Philibert and Sophie Richard, enlisted in the Canadian Army in December, 1941.

He did his military training in Halifax and Valcartier, Qué.

He then served overseas in England, France, Holland and Germany.

He was discharged in January, 1946.

Pte. John Emmanuel Richard
PTE. JOHN EMMANUEL RICHARD

Pte. John Emmanuel Richard, son of Augustin and Théodosie Richard, enlisted in the army April 1, 1943. He served in Canada, England, Holland and Belgium.

He was discharged in August, 1946.


Cpl. Henri Richard, son of Joseph T. Richard and Célina Arsenault, enlisted in the army in Charlottetown on April 15, 1940.

He served with the P.E.I. Highlanders and the West Nova Scotia Regiment at Valcartier, Newfoundland, England and Italy.

He was killed in action in Italy on December 30, 1943.

Pte. Pierre Richard
PTE. PIERRE RICHARD

Pte. Pierre Richard, son of Joseph Richard and Celina Arsenault served with the P.E.I. Highlanders for a six-month period, prior to his medical discharge.

Pte. Sylvère Richard, son of Augustin and Théodosie Richard, was killed in action in Coriano, Italy.

Pte. Frederick James Thompson
PTE. FREDERICK JAMES THOMPSON

Pte. Frederick James Thompson, son of James Thompson and Adéline Arsenault, enlisted in the P.E.I. Highlanders on May 15, 1940.

He did Guard duty on the coast of Halifax. He was also posted in Valcartier, Qué. for training, then again to Halifax Depot for duty.

He was discharged on July 20, 1945.

Cpl. Albert James Ward, son of Albert J. Ward and Elizabeth Jane Donevan, enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in February, 1940.

He served in Newfoundland and Sydney, N.S. and other parts of Canada.

He was discharged in October, 1944.

Pte. Gérard Théophile Wedge
PTE. GÉRARD THÉOPHILE WEDGE


Pte. Gérard Théophile Wedge, son of Mr. & Mrs. Aimé Wedge, enlisted in June, 1940 with the P.E.I. Highlanders.

He served with the North Nova Scotia Highlanders, going overseas to Liverpool, England in 1942.

On June 6, 1944 (D-Day), he took part in the Normandy invasion and was injured at the battle of Caen.

He was discharged in 1945.


P.F.C. Joseph John Wedge, son of Jean Pierre Wedge and Marie Blanche Pitre, enlisted in the Canadian Army (Active) in Charlottetown on April 18, 1941.

He served in Canada, Newfoundland, Britain, Central Mediterranean Area and Northwest Europe.

He received the following medals and decorations: 1939-1945 Star, Italy Star, France/Germany Star, Defence Medal, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp and War Medal 1939-1945.

He was discharged on July 24, 1946.

He re-enlisted in the Canadian Army (Regular) on February 12, 1952, serving in Canada and the Far East. He received the Korea Medal and United Nations Service Medal.

He was discharged on May 25, 1956.


L.A.C. Sylvère Wedge
L.A.C. SYLVÈRE WEDGE

L.A.C. Sylvère Wedge, son of Joseph Aucoin (Wedge) and Joséphine Poirier, enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1941.

He served as an aircraft mechanic until his discharge in 1945.
