Pte. Benjamin Joseph Arsenault, son of John C. Arsenault and Elizabeth Gallant, enlisted in the Canadian Army in Charlottetown on June 27, 1942.

He served in Canada and the United Kingdom.

He was discharged in Halifax on January 18, 1946.

His medals include: Defence Medal and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp.


Pte. Henri Benoit Arsenault, son of Mr. & Mrs. Daniel J. Arsenault, joined the service on May 15, 1940.

He served in Canada and Newfoundland with the P.E.I. Highlanders, in the United Kingdom with the North Nova Scotia Highlanders and P.E.I. Light Horse in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany, with the North Shore N.B. Regiment.

He was discharged on November 8, 1945.

Pte. Benoit J. Arsenault, son of Fidèle F. Arsenault and Elizabeth Gallant, enlisted in the Canadian Army on September 4, 1939.

He served with the P.E.I. Highlanders and received his military training in Valcartier, Québec and Prince George, B.C.

He did extensive guard duty in Dartmouth, N.S.; Halifax Citadel, N.S.; Saint John, N.B. and Newfoundland (20 months).

He was discharged on August 19, 1944.

Pte. Camille Arsenault, son of Agape Arsenault and Véronique Gallant, enlisted in the Canadian Infantry on February 23, 1940 with the P.E.I. Highlanders and served in the R.C.O.C. in the United Kingdom, Holland and Belgium, etc. He was discharged November 3, 1945.

Medals include: the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp and the Defence Medal.

CPL. CÉDRIN ARSENAULT


Cpl. Cédrin Arsenault, son of Jean F. and Eulalie Arsenault, enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force July 29, 1941 and served as Armoured assistant and Motor Transport Mechanic attached to a Fighter Squadron in Canada, the United Kingdom, the Middle East, Sicily, North Africa, Italy and Malta. He was discharged May 28, 1945.

He received the War Medal 1939-1945; the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp; the Defence Medal; the 1939-1945 Star; the Italy Star; the Africa Star with North Africa Clasp, Ribbon and Rosette.

Pte. Célestin Arsenault, son of Télesphore Arsenault and Alice Gaudet, served with the P.E.I. Highlanders and the North Nova Scotia Highlanders from April 15, 1940 to August 15, 1945. He served in Canada, the United Kingdom and Continental Europe. Wounded in France, he was hospitalized in the United Kingdom before returning to Canada for his discharge on August 15, 1945.

Pte. Cyrus J. Arsenault, son of Philémon Arsenault and Roséline Gallant, enlisted in the P.E.I. Highlanders on May 20, 1940 and served overseas during the war with the Cape Breton Highlanders.

During the Italian campaign, he landed at Naples, Italy in October, 1943 and was in the front lines northward to Ortona, where he was wounded on January 17, 1944.


He returned to his fighting unit in May, 1944 in the European theatre of war (France, Belgium and Holland). He was in Germany when the war ended.

He was discharged from the service on October 26, 1945.

Seaman Donat Arsenault
SEAMAN DONAT ARSENAULT

Seaman Donat Arsenault, son of Philippe M. and Marguerite Arsenault, served for a while in the Canadian Army, Navy and Air Force in the 1940's.


Sailor Edgar Arsenault, son of Augustin et Madeleine Arsenault, enlisted in the Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve on December 2, 1942. He served on different war ships in different theatres of war: H.M.C.S. Gaspé (June, 1943 - October, 1943) H.M.C.S. The Pas in the Atlantic Ocean; H.M.C.S. Nanaimo (November, 1944 - September, 1945) in the Pacific Ocean.

He was discharged from the service on October 2, 1945.
