EDMOND L. ARSENAULT |
Chief Petty Officer Edmond L. Arsenault, son of Mr. and Mrs, Léo D. Arsenault, enlisted
in the R.C.N.R. on December 1, 1939. While on patrol duty on a Canadian Destroyer, 400
miles off Iceland, a German submarine was captured with a crew of 35 aboard. Seaman
Arsenault secured the clock on the instrument panel of the ill-fated U-Boat as a souvenir.
The Canadian Destroyer picked up the crew and took the submarine in tow
after the U-Boat had been disabled by Atlantic patrol planes. |
Seaman Arsenault sailed over the Atlantic on patrol duty and has crossed to Britain in
convoys several times, spending a short leave in Scotland on his last trip, mostly
Glasgow, where he says "the people are nice".
He was discharged from the navy on August 28, 1945. |

Pte. Edmond Arsenault, son of Arcade and
Madeleine Arsenault, joined the army on November 27, 1942 and served until his discharge
on April 28, 1946. He was in the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers.
He served under Captain Morrison in the Halifax engineer yard. |

Pte. Edmond Arsenault, son of Fidèle and Jacqueline Arsenault, joined the West Nova
Scotia Regiment on January 8, 1943 and served in Continental Europe, the United Kingdom
and the Central Mediterannean area. His first experience in the front line was on
Christmas Eve 1943 at Ortona, Italy.
He was discharged on March 18, 1946.
He received the following war medals: C.V.S.M. and Clasp, 1939-1945 Star,
Italy Star and the France/Germany Star. |

Pte. Edmond Arsenault, son of Jean F. and
Eulalie Arsenault, served in the Canadian Army from February 3, 1945 to November 27, 1945.
His unit was the Canadian Forestry Corps. |

Pte. Emmanuel Arsenault, son of Napoléon and
Marguerite Arsenault, served with the P.E.I. Highlanders from June, 1941 to 1943. He was
discharged for medical reasons. |

Sgt. Joseph Emmanuel Edouard Arsenault, son of Mr. & Mrs. Joseph P. A. Arsenault,
enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force on July 16, 1941 and was based at the following
air force depots during the war years: Manning Pool, Toronto, Ont. (in administration);
No. 16SFTS Hagersville, Ont.; R.C.A.F Base Charlottetown, P.E.I.; Maitland, N.S.
(embarkation); R.C.A.F. Moncton, N.B. Personnel Depot; Gander, Newfoundland.
He received his discharge on October 2, 1945.

Tpr. Edouard T. Arsenault, son of Emmanuel and Roséline Arsenault, joined the army June
18, 1941 and served with the 8th N.B. Princess Louise Hussars in the United
Kingdom, the Central Mediterranean area and Continental Europe. He was discharged from the
service on March 19, 1946.
He was awarded the following service medals: C.V.S.M (Canadian Volunteer
Service Medal) and Clasp; 1939-1945 Star; Italy Star; France/Germany Star. |

Seaman Ernest Arsenault, son of Maxime and
Agnès Arsenault, served in the Canadian Navy, having enlisted in May, 1941.
He served on convoy duty in the North and South Atlantic Oceans. |

Pte. Ernest Joseph Arsenault, son of Emmanuel
and Marie-Rose Arsenault, enlisted in the Canadian Army in Charlottetown on April 1, 1943.
He served in Canada until his discharge on March 28, 1946. |

Pte. Fidèle John Arsenault, son of Azade
Arsenault and Léonie LeBlanc, enlisted in the Canadian Army on March 27, 1942 and served
overseas in England and in Scotland in the Canadian Forestry Corps.
He received his discharge April 14, 1944. |
