The Office of the Commissioner of Official Languages is at your service!

On October 17, 2006, the sixth Commissioner of Official Languages, Graham Fraser, took office. The Commissioner works with his staff at the head office in Ottawa and in five regional offices across Canada.

To find out more about the Commissioner, read his biography and the sections on his mandate and on his roles.

The Office of the Commissioner of Official Languages section describes our organization's mission and activities. It also provides an overview of federal departments and agencies that play a special role in official languages.

Finally, the history section gives a brief introduction to the individuals who have served as Commissioner of Official Languages since 1970.
