The Office of the Commissioner of Official Languages (OCOL) is an organization whose workplace is challenging and rewarding, focused on cooperation and fully bilingual.

The Commissioner of Official Languages reports directly to Parliament; therefore, he is independent from the government. However, OCOL employees (there are approximately 175) are part of the federal public service and receive all the benefits of this status, including flexible work schedules, competitive salaries and professional development.
