Martin Frobisher: The Pirate-Explorer

Transportation

The ships Michael and Gabriel were probably carracks, small sailing ships with three masts. They weighed about 25 tons. The last ship in the first voyage was a pinnace, an even smaller ship. They had a combined crew of 35 men.

Graphical element: 17th-century galleon

The second voyage had Michael, Gabriel and Aid, a larger galleon with heavy cannons. It weighed about 200 tons and would have had a crew of about 100. It also carried miners. The third voyage had fifteen ships, which again included Michael, Gabriel, and Aid.
