ABOUT THIS SITE
Teacher's Choice - Museum Events
Team Page - Bibliography - Thanks
This web site was designed around the Roedde House curriculum A Window To the Past. The curriculum was created to compliment the B.C. Ministry of Education's curriculum requirements for grade 5 Social Studies. However, A Window to the Past encourages adaptation and use for a variety of different applications.

The exercises and narratives in this web site have been developed in order to allow the young home viewer to navigate the site unassisted. The viewer is encouraged to include family, friends or classmates where possible when participating in the exercises.

The activities are also ideally suited for use in a classroom situation. In order to help make translation of this material clear to classroom use and relevance, a full description of the exercise will be made available by clicking on the Teacher's Choice icon at the bottom of each page. As well, we have included excerpts from the written curriculum from the authors Katherine Reeder and Vickie Jensen.

You may choose from the list below to take you to the Teacher's Guide for the various sections and for further resources:

Teacher's Choice: House Tour
Teacher's Choice: Family Fun
Teacher's Choice: House Treasures
Teacher's Choice: Old Vancouver

We hope these activities help students of all ages discover the past by finding new ways to look at their present.

You may purchase a copy of "Window to the Past: The Roedde House Curriculum" by sending a request along with $25.95 to the
