Pte. Sylvain Joseph Arthur Gallant
PTE. SYLVAIN JOSEPH ARTHUR GALLANT

Pte. Sylvain Joseph Arthur Gallant, son of Jean S. Gallant and Elizabeth Aucoin, enlisted in the Canadian Army at the age of 17. He served in Canada and overseas in the 44th Bn. Infantry (N.B. Regiment).

Wounded in Europe, he was hospitalized in England for 6 months until March 10, 1919. He died shortly afterwards from the result of his wounds. He is buried in the military cemetery of Brookwood in Surrey, England.


Augustin Gallant, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph (Daniel) Gallant, enlisted in the First War in Summeride in 1914 joining the 105th Bn.

After his military training in Valcartier, Qué, he proceeded overseas, landing in England.

At the battle for Ypres, Belgium, where gas was first used in 1915, sniper Gallant survived this attack.  Later in 1916, a bomb shrapnel punctured one of his eyes.

He was discharged in 1917.

PTE. AUGUSTIN GALLANT

Pte. Augustin Gallant, son of Joseph B. Gallant and Marie-Rose Arsenault, served in the Army during the last six months of 1918.

Pte. Joseph Azade Gallant, son of Joseph S. and Madeleine Gallant, served in Canada, England and France during the First World War. While serving in France, he was gassed by the enemy, never fully recovering from this condition until his death in 1939.

PTE. JOHN AZADE GALLANT

Pte. John Azade Gallant, son of Mr. & Mrs. John B. Gallant, enlisted in the 105th Bn. on April 3, 1916. He served in England and in France with the 4th Bn. Canadian Engineers.

He was discharged on May 17, 1919.

Pte. Benoit Gallant, son of Joseph (Thadée) Gallant and Adèle Geneau, served overseas during World War I.

Gnr. Cyrus E. Gallant
GNR. CYRUS E. GALLANT


Gnr. Cyrus E. Gallant, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edilbert Gallant, enlisted in the First War on April 29, 1916.

He served with the 8th Siege Bty., 22nd Canadian T.M. Bty. in England and in France. He received the two World War I medals.

He was discharged on May 17, 1919.  He re-enlisted in the Second War with the Veterans Guard of Canada on February 1, 1941 and served in Canada and the Caribbean area. He received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp.

He was discharged on July 28, 1945

Pte. Cyrus Gallant, son of Adolphe O. Gallant and Marie Arsenault, served from January 3, 1916 to January 24, 1919 in the 105th Bn. (Canadian Expeditionary Force).

His service included Canada, the United Kingdom and France. He was attached to the 26th Battery.

Pte. Edmond J.A. (Joachin) Gallant
PTE. EDMOND J.A. (JOACHIN) GALLANT


Pte. Edmond J.A. (Joachin) Gallant, son of Joseph Alex Lazare Gallant and Marie-Rose Arsenault, enlisted in the First War on October 14, 1915.

He served in the 105th Bn. with the Canadian Expeditionary Force. While serving in the front lines in France, he was wounded by shrapnel and gassed by the enemy.

He was awarded the Military Medal for Bravery while serving in France.


He was discharged on January 19, 1919. In World War II, he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force on March 5, 1941 and was discharged in 1946. He served in Trenton, Ont. as a motor mechanic.

Pte. Emile Gallant, son of Léon and Madeleine Gallant, served in the 105th Bn. in World War I and in the Veterans Guard of Canada in the Second World War.
