Pte. James Henry FitzGerald
PTE. JAMES HENRY FITZGERALD

Pte. James Henry FitzGerald, son of Maurice FitzGerald and Gertrude MacLean, enlisted in the Royal Canadian Engineers on June 19, 1941, served in Petawawa, Ont. and was discharged November 4, 1941.


Cpl. J. Adélard Gallant, son of Bruno Gallant and Marianne Arsenault, enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force on April 21, 1942. From April to June, 1942, he took his basic training at R.C.A.F. Manning Depot in Toronto. In Trenton, Ont., he took a small arms course. He was then posted to R.C.A.F. Headquarters St. John's and Torbay, Nfld. in 1942 and 1943, then to R.C.A.F. Trenton, Ont. for a 3-month security and investigation course. His final postings were R.C.A.F. Summerside and R.C.A.F. Tofino, B.C.

He was discharged on November 6, 1945.

Pte. Joseph Albéni Gallant
PTE. JOSEPH ALBÉNI GALLANT

Pte. Joseph Albéni Gallant, son of Glorice and Basilice Gallant, served in the army from July 3, 1943 to March 20, 1945.


Pte. Alcide Gallant, son of Hector and Marie-Jane Gallant, enlisted in the Canadian Army in May, 1942.

He served with the Perth Regiment, spending one year in the United Kingdom before seeing action in the Italian campaign.

He was taken prisoner at the battle of Arielli on January 16, 1943 just before the battle of Ortona.

He was a prisoner of war for 16 months in Stalag 7A in Germany, being released in May, 1945.

He was discharged in August, 1945.

PTE. ALCIDE GALLANT

Pte. Alcide Gallant, son of Joseph Octave and Estelle Gallant, served in Canada during the Second World War.

Corporal Alcide J. Gallant, son of Joseph Alexandre Gallant and Marie-Rose Arsenault, enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force on July 14, 1941.

He served overseas as hospital attendant and was in London during the bombing.

He also served in France. He was discharged on February 1, 1946.

Pte. Alfred Gallant
PTE. ALFRED GALLANT

Pte. Alfred Gallant, son of Ozile and Marie-Anne Gallant, took his basic training in Woodstock, N.B. and was posted at Camp Borden for a period of time. In June, 1941, he went to England with the 8th Princess Louise N.B. Hussars. He was sent back to Canada for a medical discharge.


Pte. Joseph Alfred Gallant, son of Magloire Gallant and Eugénie Haché, enlisted on January 8, 1943 and served in Canada with the Royal Canadian Engineers and later with the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps.

He worked on the Charlottetown and Summerside rifle ranges. He also worked in Saint John, N.B. where explosives were used to remove the World War I ammunition depot on the Reversing Falls area.

The unit also blasted on McNabs Island in Halifax to lay cable trenches.

He was discharged on February 26, 1946.

Seaman Alfred Gallant
SEAMAN ALFRED GALLANT

Seaman Alfred Gallant, son of Philibert and Marie Louise Gallant, enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy in December, 1939.

He served on the convoy ship Kamsack and was discharged at the end of the war in 1946.

Pte. Joseph Alphée Gallant, son of Bernard Gallant and Émilienne Arsenault, enlisted in the Canadian Army on May 26, 1942.

He served in Newfoundland and with the N.N.S.H. in France. He was wounded at Cap Gris-Nez, France.

He was discharged July 25, 1945.
