Cpl. John J. Lecky
CPL. JOHN J. LECKY

Cpl. John J. Lecky, son of John D. and Florilda Lecky, enlisted in the Canadian Army in September, 1942.

He served in Debert and Labrador with #6 Camp Engineers.

He was discharged in June, 1946.

Pte. Leonard Lecky, son of John D. and Florilda Lecky, enlisted in the Canadian Army in January, 1940.

He served in the North Nova Scotia Highlanders, having seen action in the battle of Normandy and in Holland.

He was discharged in 1945.

Pte. Edouard Joseph LeClair
PTE. EDOUARD JOSEPH LeCLAIR


Pte. Edouard Joseph LeClair, son of Joseph LeClair and Mathilda Solomon, enlisted in the Canadian Army on February 17, 1943.

He served in Canada, the United Kingdom, France and Germany in the Royal Canadian Ordnance Corps (4th Cdr. Armoured Troop Workshop).

He was discharged on April 17, 1946. He received the 1939-1945 Star, the France/Germany Star, the Defence Medal and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal.


Pte. François LeClair, son of Joseph LeClair and Mathilda Solomon, enlisted on February 11, 1943 and served for a time in the 22nd Regiment Royal Canadian Engineers.

He served as batman for the Officers Mess at Beach Grove Inn in Charlottetown. As the result of an accident while doing his basic training, he was discharged on March 8, 1943.

CPL. JOSEPH JÉROME LeCLAIR

Cpl. Joseph Jérôme LeClair, son of Joseph LeClair and Mathilda Solomon, enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in November, 1941.

He served in Summerside, Yarmouth, N.S. and Kapuskasing, Ont.

He was discharged on December 29, 1945.

W.A.C. Alice Maud Lyons, daughter of Joseph Alexander Gallant and Marie Rose Arsenault, served with the American army during the war. She remained in the service for 11 years after the war, spending two terms in Japan.

Pte. Herman MacArthur
PTE. HERMAN MacARTHUR

Pte. Herman MacArthur, son of Russell and Ella MacArthur, enlisted in the Canadian Army in 1941.

He served overseas and in Germany with the 1st Canadian Army Headquarters.

He was discharged in 1946.

Seaman Daniel Archibald MacDonald, son of Edmond James and Mary Mathilda MacDonald, served on the S.S. Proteus which was torpedoed off the Virgin Islands in November, 1941.

He was lost at sea.

Pte. James Hugh McDougall
PTE. JAMES HUGH McDOUGALL

Pte. James Hugh McDougall, son of Roderick and Edith McDougall, enlisted in the army on September 5, 1939. He served with the Loyal Edmonton Regiment in the United Kingdom, Italy, Central Mediterranean area and North Africa.

He was discharged on January 9, 1946.

Gnr. J. A. MacKinnon, son of Basil and Nellie MacKinnon, enlisted in the army on June 19, 1941.

He served in the Royal Canadian Artillery in the Anti-Tank Corps in the Italian and Western campaigns.

He was discharged in October, 1945.
