SEAMAN GEORGES F. MacKINNON |
Seaman Georges F. MacKinnon, son of John S. MacKinnon and Veronica Williams, enlisted in
the Royal Canadian Navy in October, 1941, in Ottawa.
After his basic training in Toronto, he took coding and decoding courses
in St. Hyacinthe, Qué. He served the summer of 1942 at Gaspé Naval Base, then to St.
John's, Newfoundland.
From St. John's, he was transferred to H.M.C.S. Sea Cliffe on
Trans-Atlantic convoy duty (The Newfy-Derry run).
He was discharged on August 31, 1945. |

Gnr. Georges William MacKinnon, son of Basil and Nellie MacKinnon, enlisted in the
Canadian Army on June 23, 1942.
He served in Labrador with the Royal Canadian Artillery until the summer
of 1944.
He sailed for England in July, 1944, having been taken on strength by the
Essex Scottish Regiment of Windsor, Ont. (Infantry).
He was killed at Falaise Gap, France on August 13, 1944 at the age of 22. |

SGT. JOHN PHILIP MacKINNON |
Sgt. John Philip MacKinnon, son of John MacKinnon and Veronica Williams, enlisted in the
Royal Canadian Air Force in September, 1941.
After his preliminary training in Toronto and a six-week Instrument
Makers' course in St.Thomas, Ont., he served with the North Atlantic Squadron (10 Br. and
5 Br.) at Gander, Newfoundland (1942-1943) and Summerside (1943-1945).
He was discharged in September, 1945. |

Pte. Stephen Leonard MacKinnon, son of Basil and Nellie MacKinnon, enlisted in the
Canadian Army on January 23, 1942, serving in England in August, 1942, with the 2nd
Road Construction Company and the Royal Canadian Engineer (29th Field Coy) in
France, Germany, Belgium, Holland and in the Scheldt Islands.
He was discharged on January 23, 1946. He visited his brother Georges'
grave in France in 1985 during the Liberation of Holland commemorative visit. |

Sgt. Urban J. MacKinnon, son of Mr. and Mrs. John S. MacKinnon, enlisted in the Canadian
Army on March 2, 1942.
He served in the Royal Canadian Ordnance Corps, in Ottawa and sailed
overseas in 1942.
After his basic training in England, he was transferred to the Royal
Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers. |
He served for 18 months in Italy from 1943 and was then transferred to Canadian Legion
Education Services, serving in Holland and Germany in this capacity.
At the end of the war in 1945, he was on the staff of a basic educational
institution in Groningen, Holland.
He was discharged on February 4, 1946. |

Pte. William Aeneas McIsaac,
son of Mr. & Mrs. John W. McIsaac, enlisted in the army on November 19, 1940. He
served with the West Nova Scotia Regiment in Canada, Newfoundland, England, Sicily, and
Italy.
He was discharged on June 28, 1945. |

Debert, N.S.; and Windsor, N.S.
He was discharged on September 13, 1946. |
