Pte. John Edward Poirier
PTE. JOHN EDWARD POIRIER


Pte. John Edward Poirier, son of Mathurin and Rose Poirier, enlisted in the army in May, 1942.

He served with the Princess Louise Fusiliers in Canada, England and Italy.

He received the General Service Medal, 1939-1945 Star, the Defence Medal and the Italy Star.

He was discharged on May 24, 1945.

Tpr. John Peter Poirier, son of François Poirier and Madeleine Arsenault, enlisted in the Canadian Army on April 16, 1941.

He served in Camp Borden, Ont. and Huntington, Qué.

He was discharged on November 23, 1945.

Pte. Louis Benoît Poirier
PTE. LOUIS BENOÎT POIRIER

Pte. Louis Benoît Poirier, son of Mr. & Mrs. Philippe Poirier, served with the Royal Canadian Signals in Canada, the United Kingdom, Belgium and Holland.


Bdr. Joseph Ulric Poirer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Poirier, enlisted in the army on July 16, 1942.

After his basic training in Charlottetown, he was engaged in clerical duties with Search light troops, attached to Air force bases in Canada.

He served overseas with the rank of Bdr. in Artillery, training on 30 and 60 lbs. guns.

In Europe, he was attached to Army Headquarters, serving in England, Belgium and Holland.

He was discharged on February 16, 1946.

U.P.E.I. honored Ulric with a Ph.D. in Law in 1973.


Pte. Angus Bernard Praught
PTE. ANGUS BERNARD PRAUGHT

Pte. Angus Bernard Praught, son of Ebba Praught and Cecelia MacDonald, served in the American Army during World War II.

He served in France, Belgium and Italy.

Pte. Joseph Arnold Bernard Praught, son of Leo and Louise Praught, enlisted in the army on August 7, 1940. He served with the N.B. Rangers in Canada, the North Atlantic area and the United Kingdom.

He was discharged on January 10, 1946.

Pte. Daniel Camillus Praught
PTE. DANIEL CAMILLUS PRAUGHT

Pte. Daniel Camillus Praught, son of Ebba Praught and Cecelia MacDonald, served in the American Army during the Second World War and was wounded in the Italian campaign.


Airman Daniel Celestine Praught, son of Leo Praught and Louise Malone, enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force on June 27, 1940. He served as aero-electrical technician in Halifax, N.S.; Scoudouc, N.B.; Newfoundland, Goose Bay, and Summerside.

He retired from the service as Sergeant on September 30, 1956.   Medals and decorations received: Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, Canadian Decoration.

AIRMAN EDWARD JOSEPH PRAUGHT

Airman Edward Joseph Praught, son of Clement Praught and Elizabeth Gillis, enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1944.

Fl./Sgt. Frederick Vincent Praught, son of Leo Praught and Louise Malone enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force on April 25, 1941. As a flight sergent he was stationed in the M.E. Section at Copper Cliff, Ont., Scoudouc, N.B., Mt. Pleasant, P.E.I. and other postings in the province of Quebec.

He was discharged in May, 1946.
