Pte. François Arsenault, son of Joseph and Lucianne Arsenault, enlisted in the Army on
November 27, 1942.
He was attached to the artillery and went overseas in 1943. He returned to
Canada in July, 1945 having volunteered for the Pacific theatre of war. He trained in
Debert, N.S. and Quebec, but the hostilities had ended on V-J day in August, 1945.
He was discharged on January 29, 1946. |

Gnr. François Arsenault, son of Guillaume Arsenault and Eléonore Pitre, enlisted in the
Canadian army on January 29, 1943.
He served with the Royal Canadian Artillery in Sherbrooke, Qué.; Debert,
N.S.; Halifax, N.S. and Vancouver, B.C.
He was discharged on December 14, 1945. |

Pte. Joseph Frank Arsenault, son of Fidèle F. Arsenault and Elizabeth Gallant, enlisted
in the Canadian Army at the outbreak of World War II.
He served with the North Nova Scotia Highlanders. After his basic training
in Canada, he embarked for further training in Aldershot, England.
He took part in the Normandy invasion, was taken prisoner at Authie,
France, and was murdered by German soldiers (12 S.S. Panzer) under the command of
Maj.-Gen. Kurt Meyers on DDay + 1 (June 7, 1944). |

Arsenault and Véronique Gallant, enlisted in the P.E.I. Highlanders and served in Canada
from March 20, 1940 to June 25, 1942, date of discharge from the army. |

GUNNER FRANCOIS ARSENAULT |
Gunner François Arsenault, son of Charles M. and Evangéline Arsenault, enlisted in the
Army in September, 1942; he trained in Petawawa and Valcartier with the 122nd
Bty., 27th Fld. Regt. R.C.A. Late in 1943, he was transferred to Europe # 1
C.A.R.U. Borden, England. Early in 1945, he joined the 66th Bty., 14th
Fld. Regt., R.C.A. in Neijmegan (Holland), then on to Germany until the end of the war.
He was discharged in January, 1946. |

Sgt. Fred Arsenault, son of Guillaume Arsenault and Eléonore Pitre, enlisted in the Royal
Canadian Air Force on November 15, 1941.
He was posted to Toronto and took a course in business administration in
Trenton, Ont. He then served in St. Lambert, Qué. and trans-atlantic ferry command in
Labrador.
He was discharged on October 20, 1946. |

L./Cpl. Fred Archie Arsenault, son of Joseph
and Pauline Arsenault, enlisted in the army in St. John, N.B. on April 15, 1942 and served
with the 5th Light Anti-Aircraft Advance Workshop, in the United Kingdom, the
Central Mediterranean Area and Continental Europe. Demobilization date: January 16, 1946.
For his war service, he received the 1939-1945 Star; the Italy Star; France/Germany Star;
Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. |

Airman George P. Arsenault, son of Jean
Prospère and Marie-Anne Arsenault, joined the Royal Canadian Air Force on December 8,
1940 and served in Canada and Newfoundland until his discharge from the service in March,
1946. |

Pte. Gérard Arsenault, son of Mr. and Mrs. Emmanuel Arsenault, enlisted in the army in
Summerside on September 10, 1942.
He served with the Army Signal Corps, 3rd Division, 9th
Brigade. After his training in Valcartier, Québec, he embarked for England to pursue his
signals training. He saw action in Normandy, France, and was wounded in the battle for
Caen.
Returning to the front, he participated in the liberation of Belgium and
Holland and was in Germany when the war ended.
He was discharged on February 5, 1946. |

Pte. Gilbert Arsenault, son of Albénie and
Philomène Arsenault, enlisted in the Royal Canadian Ordnance Corps March 20, 1942.
He was posted at Beech Grove, P.E.I.; Debert, N.S.; Halifax, N.S. and Barrysville, Ont.
He was discharged February 14, 1946. |
