Back When...

The western end of the province has a rich and varied political history: from the early pioneers who were ruled by men like James Yeo, to the later triumphs of men like Stanislaus Perry, the first Acadian to run successfully for the Prince Edward Island Legislature. Each of these men has his own story, each with his own electoral track record. Some were well liked and respected; others were feared. Some led the province; one led the nation.
