There have been numerous changes to the structural design of the Doll's House. Several walls in both the original kitchen and dining room have been either removed or altered. The wall (Letter B) dividing the original kitchen and hallway has been removed. The original hallway is now a part of the kitchen today, doubling its original size.

The location of the outer door (Letter A) leading to both the Doll's House and the Studio Flat has been removed. A built-in hutch stands in it's place.

living room and evidence of the original wall can still be seen today. Like the studio, a fireplace has been added. With no evidence of a chimney, it is believed the fireplace was originally intended for ornamental purposes. The present day front door and hallway of the Doll's House are most likely new additions since Emily traded the house in 1936. The main bedroom of the Doll's House is located next to the living room.

The general structure of this room is the same. The only noticeable change is the addition of a closet where there appears to have once been an entrance way. For more detailed information on the architectural changes in the Doll's House, visit the floor plans section.
