Renovations: Second Floor
Floor Plan
Second Floor
Originally, the second floor of the "House of All Sorts" was a single apartment consisting of a large studio. When Emily first moved in, she resided on this second floor alone and rented out the two lower suites.

Unfortunately, as World War I progressed, Emily found it increasingly difficult to keep up with her living expenses. Eventually, she divided her studio flat into two suites. Emily remained in the studio portion of the second floor and rented out the the new second suite; the Doll's House. The Studio was located on the eastern side of the house and the Doll's flat was located on the western side of the house. The Studio flat and the Doll's House were accessible from a common door which was located at the back of the house.

Since Emily's time in the "House of All Sorts", the second floor has changed considerably. There are still two separate suites on the second floor, but there have been several modifications.

There is still one outer door common to the two suites at the back of the house. A front entrance door and stairs have been added. It is difficult to determine when each of these changes were made as none have been officially documented.
