![Clapham](images/titre_clapham.gif) Clapham is on Craig Road at the corner of le Rang 1 of Inverness and the border of Ireland County (St. Jean de Bréboeuf). Clapham was named after John G. Clapham, member of the legislated assembly of Megantic County. The stone house was, in 1834, a stage-coach stop for people travelling from Quebec to Boston.
In 1818, there was a post office in Clapham that existed until the end on the 19th century. There was also a protestant school which opened in 1840 and closed around 1900. The first French-Canadian people called this place "Claque-Pochette".
Today, we can find in Clapham a red dear breeding farm called “Les Cerfs du Roi.
