The Striped Skunk
Introduction

Skunks look like puffy, cuddly black cats, with white stripes down their backs, but to mistake one for a cat can have putrid consequences. These little cat-like creatures can spray a musk like liquid from two areas on their anus. Skunks will spray when threatened but only after trying to frighten away its danger by stomping their feet and flagging their tails. The odor of their spray is said to be like a mixture of ammonia, garlic, sewer gas, sulfur, and musk perfume, all mixed together, and intensified a thousand times. It burns your eyes, and tortures your nose to the point of painful tears.

Skunks live in hollowed out logs, ground burrows, and even under rock piles. You can spot them (if you want to take the risk) at the forest edge, in thick bushes, and open areas.
