Partnerships

Through­out its long his­tory, the CCA has formed strate­gic part­ner­ships within the cul­tural milieu and other parts of civil soci­ety, includ­ing the not-for-profit, gov­ern­ment, aca­d­e­mic and busi­ness sec­tors. These var­i­ous col­lab­o­ra­tions are vital to expand­ing the scope of our activ­i­ties, pro­mot­ing the value of the arts to a broader audi­ence and engag­ing new publics in the cre­ative sector.

The CCA is cur­rently involved in the fol­low­ing partnerships:

Uni­ver­sity of Ottawa

Since the fall of 2010, tin part­ner­ship with the Uni­ver­sity of Ottawa’s Cen­tre for Con­tin­u­ing Edu­ca­tion, Cen­tre on Gov­er­nance and School of Polit­i­cal Stud­ies, the CCA presents a pol­icy forum series enti­tled Think­ing Cul­ture,  focus­ing on emerg­ing issues and devel­op­ments within the cul­tural sector.

Gov­er­nor General‘s Per­form­ing Arts Foundation

The CCA is one of the found­ing mem­bers of the Gov­er­nor General’s Per­form­ing Arts Foun­da­tion (GGPAAF) along with the Canada Coun­cil for the Arts, the National Film Board and the National Arts Cen­tre.  The GGPAAF is respon­si­ble for the coor­di­nat­ing  the nom­i­na­tion and the selec­tion process for the Gov­er­nor General’s Per­form­ing Arts Awards, Canada’s fore­most dis­tinc­tion for excel­lence in the per­form­ing arts. The CCA’s National Direc­tor cur­rently sits on the Board of Direc­tors of the GGPAAF.

Imag­ine Canada

The CCA’s National Direc­tor is a mem­ber of Imag­ine Canada’s National Engage­ment Strat­egy Advi­sory Com­mit­tee. A unique ini­tia­tive, the National Engage­ment Strat­egy seeks to strengthen the col­lec­tive voice of char­i­ties and non­prof­its in Canada, fos­ter knowl­edge exchange and inno­va­tion among orga­ni­za­tions of all sizes across the coun­try, and cre­ate oppor­tu­ni­ties for net­work­ing and part­ner­ship building

National Advi­sory Com­mit­tee on Cul­tural Statistics

Sta­tis­tics Canada’s National Advi­sory Com­mit­tee on Cul­tural Sta­tis­tics (NACCS) was estab­lished in 1984 and serves as an impor­tant source of input on the devel­op­ment and improve­ment of sta­tis­ti­cal pro­grams rel­e­vant to the Cana­dian cul­tural sec­tor. The CCA’s National Direc­tor is the cur­rent the Chair of this committee

Cul­tural Human Resources Council

The CCA’s National Direc­tor acts as an observer for the Cul­tural Human Resources Coun­cil (CHRC). The CHRC brings together rep­re­sen­ta­tives of arts dis­ci­plines and cul­tural indus­tries in the cul­tural sec­tor to address the train­ing and career devel­op­ment needs of employ­ers and cul­tural work­ers includ­ing artists, tech­ni­cal staff, man­agers and all oth­ers engaged pro­fes­sion­ally in the sector.

Cana­dian Net­work for Arts and Learning

The CCA’s National Direc­tor is actively involved with Cana­dian Net­work for Arts and Learn­ing as a mem­ber of the organization’s Board of Direc­tors. The Net­work is a not-for-profit, inclu­sive and acces­si­ble orga­ni­za­tion intended to con­nect a broad range of gov­ern­men­tal and non-governmental enti­ties and indi­vid­u­als in joint ini­tia­tives to advance arts and learning.

Coali­tion for Cul­tural Diversity

Founded in 1998, the Coali­tion for Cul­tural Diver­sity rep­re­sents the mem­bers, artists and cre­ators, of 34 lead­ing Cana­dian asso­ci­a­tions of cul­tural pro­fes­sion­als who strongly believe in the legit­i­mate right of gov­ern­ments to adopt poli­cies favourable to the diver­sity of cul­tural expres­sions against the risk of cul­tural homo­gene­ity in the con­text of glob­al­iza­tion. The National Direc­tor of the CCA is a mem­ber of the Board of Direc­tors of the Coalition.
