May 2012: John Hobday

Our current featured member is John Hobday, a great personality of the Canadian arts and cultural scene. He has made an enormous impact on the sector including here, at the Canadian Conference of the Arts. He has received numerous awards for his contributions and now has an annual award that bears his name, given out to recognize outstanding arts managers.

April 2012: Erika Beatty

Our featured member this month is Erika Beatty, Symphony Nova Scotia’s CEO, and recipient of the Canada Council for the Arts’ 2012 John Hobday Award in Arts Management (Mentorship). The award honours excellence in arts management with a $10,000 grant to allow the recipient to participate in professional development programs and be mentored by another arts administrator. “I can’t express how honoured, humbled, and excited I am,” says Erika.

March 2012: Greg Hollingshead

Our featured member this month is Greg Hollingshead, writer professor Emeritus and president of the Writers Union of Canada (TWUC). Greg has published more than five dozen stories and essays in magazines and anthologies in Canada, the U.S., and the U.K. His book The Roaring Girl (Somerville House) won the 1995 Governor General's Award for Fiction.

February 2012: Roland Mahé

After more than forty years at the helm of the oldest Canadian theatre troupe, Roland Mahé has decided to pass the torch and retire.  Hats  off to Roland Mahé!

January 2012: Clothilde Cardinal

Clothilde co-directs the Danse Danse series, working alongside Pierre Des Marais since 2000. She has almost 30 years of experience in the performing arts field both as a funder and a promoter. Throughout her career, she has participated in performing arts festivals and fairs in Canada and around the world. Clothilde is currently based in Montréal.
