This ses­sion will pro­vide insight into the evo­lu­tion of an increas­ingly impor­tant issue on Canada’s cul­tural landscape.

Come and join us for an overview of the con­cep­tual issues fac­ing munic­i­pal­i­ties work­ing to inte­grate cul­ture into sus­tain­abil­ity plans, along with a brief dis­cus­sion about how Agenda 21 for Cul­ture is unfold­ing in Euro­pean cities. Closer to home, atten­dees will gain an under­stand­ing of Que­bec munic­i­pal­i­ties’ expe­ri­ence imple­ment­ing Agenda 21 for Culture.

The Think­ing Cul­ture series is pre­sented by the Cana­dian Con­fer­ence of the Arts in col­lab­o­ra­tion with the Uni­ver­sity of Ottawa’s Cen­tre on Gov­er­nance, Cen­tre for Con­tin­u­ing Edu­ca­tion and School of Polit­i­cal Stud­ies. The forums will be flex­i­ble in for­mat, tak­ing the shape of inter­ac­tive lec­tures, debates, pan­els and pre­sen­ta­tions with oppor­tu­ni­ties for audi­ence par­tic­i­pa­tion and exchange.
